MangaCrazy 3.9: Little things that matter [Download link at bottom]

HI everyone! I’m sorry for this late update. I haven’t been able to find enough time to devote to improving MangaCrazy, and I was hell bent on adding spectacular features before releasing a new version.

But spectacular features require time.

And in the meanwhile, you guys were having to put up with the annoying ‘error’ messages and what not. So I have decided to release whatever I have completed as of yet, and then I’ll continue with the slow upgrading. In this version, I hope you will encounter ‘error’ less frequently. MangaCrazy now also supports compression in .cbz form. Now double clicking on a downloaded manga opens the .zip/.cbz file directly, so goodies for you if you have set default preferences to a manga reader software 😉 . All of you who had issues about Batoto, I hope you will find this version satisfactory, and I have a titbit to share: if you wish to download Manga in a different language, just copy the chapter link and drop it in the downloads bar and voila! Thanks, A. Bera for pointing this one out! And for all of you who had issues downloading from Mega, I have put up the .jar file in Google Drive for now, at least till I find a good file sharing site. One down side though: this version does not support MangaBird, which was giving the program a lot of trouble.

Last but not the least, I want to thank all of you 4500+ people who have downloaded my little program, and all you great folks who have kept sending me your suggestions and feedbacks. MangaCrazy still has a long way to go, and I hope you will bear with me. I am afraid the next update will take a while in coming – I plan to renovate MangaCrazy. And here’s a bit of what I aim to achieve: support listing of mangas in other languages (from Batoto at least). A better search algorithm that will speed things up. And support MangaStream and a few more sites. And a few more ideas I am keeping to myself for now 😉 .

So till then, enjoy MangaCrazy 3,9! And thank you so much guys, for my site has >25k hits!! \m/

Todo: Resolve Batoto errors (and 15000+ hits!)

I’ve been hearing from a lot of people that download is not taking place successfully if Batoto is selected as the preferred location. And that Batoto has changed its images’ domain. Thank you, guys, for reporting this to me, and for using MangaCrazy in the first place! I’m sort of lost at the moment because of personal reasons, but I promise I’ll make time and fix this bug atleast, this weekend (too many stuff stacked, but I’ll do it!))

So till then, please have patience! And do keep an eye out for the next version that’ll come out next week! (I’ll do it! \m/ )

Cheers

P.s. And I just noticed this, but Geekista’s had more than 15000 visitors at this point! I’m speechless! Thank you so much guys! *Feels more motivated than ever*

Behold MangaCrazy v3.0!

I’m very sorry for the very long wait! It definitely took me longer than I thought to finish my other responsibilities before I could get down to work on my poor Downloader – and honestly a lot of other stuff is still pending. I got a job (yay) and I have tons of paperwork to complete before I leave, but still I somehow did manage to sneak some time for my pet project 😀 So behold the new version! And here’s a treat: MangaCrazy v3.0 now supports Mangareader.net and Mangabird.com!! ^_^ Just select the site you want to search in, enter the manga’s name and voilà! new I worked on fixing the Batoto part too, but there wasn’t much I had to do. I realised what was wrong only now: Batoto does not host many licensed mangas. So while the chapters would show up using the other sites, Batoto would fail… And I thought it was a bug in my program 🙂 #phew I have fixed some issues with the compression, so hopefully now the errors would be more infrequent. The chapter/volume storage needed a bit of tweaking too, and now it’s done. I had planned v3.0 really ambitiously, had aimed to add much more sites, but sadly I ran out of site names! These are the sites I frequent the most. If you guys visit/prefer some other sites, please, do mention them in comments so that I can add them too! And for those who are newbies and don’t have any preference, here are a few tips:

  1. If you want your manga to be stored in really systematic manner, go for MangaFox
  2. If you want your scans/images to be of high(er) quality, goforBatoto. Of course, accordingly the image size would be larger (not too much though))
    1. However, some licensed mangas are unavailable in Batoto
    2. Batoto being scanslator-friendly, the naming might be a bit off, but I have made it to be as systematic as possible
  3. Between MangaReader and MangaBird, I have no preferences. Sometimes MangaReader loads faster, and sometimes MangaBird uploads the raws (aka spoilers), so if you can’t wait for the translations…!

I wish to thank all you people who took some time to leave behind your comments. And I hope you would like this one too. And naturally, being a sort of airhead, I might have overlooked some test-cases and situations. So if you run into any problems or find any bugs, please let me know!
